Tags: ⭐ favorite, 💎 value, 🔥 red-zone role, 🦴 defensive matchup to attack, ✈️ the defense this team faces is exploitable.
Team tendency is shown only where it helps that player: 🏃🏿‍♂️‍➡️ run-first lifts the backfield, 🩵 pass-first lifts the pass catchers, and 💢 aggressive lifts everyone — an offense that goes for it gets more chances to score.
Numbers: RZ is red-zone TD chance and D#n is the opponent's rank of 32 inside the 20 — green at 24+ is soft, red at 8 or better is a wall. Both are computed from nflverse play-by-play by nfl_research/redzone.py and read out of the week's slate, so they rebuild with it rather than being pasted in.
Top 5 is ranked on RZ alone, restricted to projected Week 1 starters. Red-zone chance is the only input here that measures scoring rather than yardage, so it carries the ranking on its own.
Basis and caveats: the red-zone model runs on 2025 play-by-play — Week 1 has no current-season sample. A player who changed teams earned his share with the old offence and it is applied to the new one's trips, so those numbers describe a role he may no longer hold. Availability is cross-checked against the Week 1 projected starters: Q is questionable but still projected to start, Not projected means the player is absent from that lineup and his role here is unconfirmed. Check those before this goes out.
